They are entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, entertainers and academic trailblazers and they are here to share their journey and how they have been entrepreneurial.

This week our host Buntu Majaja is in conversation with Katlego Letsoalo, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist at the Minerals Council of South Africa.

Mr. Katlego is a qualified mining engineer and with a master’s degree in Engineering majoring in Mineral Economics from the University of Witwatersrand. He spent the last 5 years of his career actively involved in various R&D initiatives within the mining industry. He was part of a team that established the Nelson Mandela Mining Precinct which is an entity with an aim of revitalising South African mining R&D, technology development and technology transfer.

Mr. Letsoalo was part of a team of 23 well-selected young African Leaders, under 40, in 2019 who are considered as the next generation of thought leaders in the Minerals and Metals sector by the University of Cape Town. He has also represented Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) at the 2019 ILO international conference on Youth employment in Nigeria. He was listed as the Mail and Guardian top 200 Young South African in the Business, Entrepreneurship & Tourism category. Katlego was a Chairperson of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) Young Professionals Council (YPC) which represents just over 2000 professionals under 35 years in Southern Africa. He is now serving as the youngest-ever council member on the board of SAIMM.
