This week our host Buntu Majaja is in conversation with Takalani Lucky Madzhadzhi, Founder and CEO of Ashanti AI.

Takalani Madzhadzhi is a qualified actuary, data scientist, and entrepreneur. He is the founder of Ashanti AI. Our name comes from the Ashanti, a Ghanaian tribe that embodies our values. These include the spirit of ‘Ubuntu’ and innovation as we share our success with our team members, clients and partners. We use data science and artificial intelligence to solve industry problems with clients and partners such as Anglo American, ABSA, Discovery and Explore Data Academy. Throughout his 10 years of industry experience, he has held numerous roles in financial services namely Liberty, Old Mutual, and ABSA. He is an active member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa and is a former president at the Association of South African Black Actuarial Professionals. Takalani holds a BBusSc in Actuarial Sciences from the University of Cape Town and is currently pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering, majoring in Data Sciences at Stellenbosch University.
