Advice, tips and tools from those who know best – you!

We’re all about purposeful learning, and we’ve got four fantastic strategies that other teachers have tried and loved.

Make it Relevant: Help your Learners see how the topic connects to their own lives. Encourage them to uncover those connections themselves, which can boost their interest, improve their grades, and make learning more exciting. Want to know the secret? Give them open-ended questions and let them write mini-essays or create posters to explore their relevance.

Learner Choice: Let your Learners take the reins and choose their own learning activities. Giving them some independence can result in higher-quality work and a greater sense of enjoyment in the learning process. How to do this? Offer a variety of options within the topic and let them decide which path to take.

Real-World Problem Solving: Tackle a real-world problem that’s related to the content you’re teaching. When Learners see the direct application of their learning, it sparks their interest and keeps them engaged. How to do this? Let them discuss the problem, ask questions, and share their thoughts. Then guide them through a problem-solving process, introducing the relevant topic along the way.

Connect to the Real World: Bring in professionals who can show your Learners how what they’re learning can be applied in real-life situations. It’s like bringing the world into your classroom! If professionals can’t physically visit, don’t worry. You can schedule a phone call or even use technology to connect with them virtually. Imagine the excitement when your Learners get to interact with experts in the field!

We hope these ideas energise the classroom and make learning a blast for your Learners. Stay tuned for more exciting tips and tools in our next edition. Happy purposeful teaching!
